Who are Taxicab?

Taxicab is a subsidiary of FORTUNA TOURS & TRAVELS. We are a specialist private transfer taxi service, ground transfers if you will, we provide travelers with a vehicle and a driver to transport them to or from BIA Airport, Colombo city Hotels or any location in Sri Lanka. This is NOT a shared service the vehicle is for your sole use.

What type of service do you provide?

Tell us where and when you want to go, and we will get you there. We have many different types of vehicle and they are all provided with polite and helpful licensed drivers.

How easy is it to book a car with you?

Very! All you do is tell us; How many passengers and luggage you have. It’s done!!! Its as easy as one, two, three!!!

How long have you been providing a private transfer service?

We have been in this business for over 30 years located in our own building down the beach road of Negombo (west coast) 10 mins drive from the BIA Airport. Our aim was to master this trade and today we have achieved same with the support of our valuable clients and our dedicated staff along the drivers.

What area do you cover?

We can provide service to/from any location in Sri Lanka. But if for any reason we can’t we probably know someone who can. Our aim is to enhance the service that we provide, so be rest assured we will go that extra mile to provide you with as much as we can.

Which airports do you service?

For the moment BIA and in time to come from HIA as well with a meet and greet service.

What type of vehicles do you have?

We have access to a vast range of vehicles from saloon cars to minibuses, limousines to coaches, to view vehicles click on the vehicles from the menu.

How can I pay for this service?

We accept all major credit cards as payment (credit card payments are NOT subjected to a any processing fee)

Can I pay in cash?

Yes you can, simply pay the driver on the date of your journey (payments are accepted in USD,GBP, or any middle eastern currency ). However the amount has to be for the exact amount, if not the balance would be given by LKR.

What if my flight is delayed? Will I be charged extra?

We monitor flight arrivals before any drivers are dispatched, as a result we do NOT charge you any extra if your flight is delayed.

Where do I meet my driver when I land at the airport?

The Meeting Point is detailed in the booking process and is also stated in the email confirmation. Generally it is “area all travel agents page for their clients’” BIA Arrival Hall”.

What if I cannot locate my driver?

Call our 24hr support line from a (roaming phone or from overseas) on +94 77 315 9011 or from a local phone 077 315 9011 quoting your transfer order reference number or your name and our experienced staff will be able to assist.

Is your company licensed?

Yes, we are a fully licensed company and are required to abide by the regulations set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.

Do you operate a fixed price policy?

Yes (100%) of our customers do not pay more than the quoted price. In that sense yes we operate a fixed price policy. Credit or debit card payments DO NOT incur a processing fee.

Are your prices per car or per person?

We do NOT provide a shared service. Our vehicles are sole use vehicles, our prices are per vehicle. Please see Vehicle capacity for further details.

How early do I need to book my car?

We can provide service within 01 hour sometimes, but the earlier you book the better, 8 – 12 hours would be recommended. If you are making a last minute booking it is best to phone +94 117 546 700, lines open 24 hours a day.

Do I have to book online. I would like to speak to someone?

Our online booking process is clear and easy to understand. But if you prefer to speak to one of our agents you can make a booking on the phone via our reservations line on: +94 77 315 9011, lines are open 24 hours a day.

Can I make a booking if the party consists of more than 8 passengers?

We can cater for any number of passengers 1 – 100 or even more if necessary, please use the special quotation form and ensure that you include the number of passengers in your party and full details of your journey.

Will you meet us at any time of day?

Yes we provide a 24hour service. We will meet you at any time of day and there is no extra charge for unsocial hours. Not even during Sinhalease New Year, Christmas period, we charge additionally.

What if the flight is delayed or early?

We work on the basis of scheduled arrival times, we do monitor all flights, there are no additional charges if your flight is delayed.

Are there any additional costs?

No, though the vehicles are parked in the BIA car park we DO NOT charge for waiting time. Not even if the flight is delayed by hours, or days. Extra Passengers or Luggage – Vehicle Upgrade we will be charging extra.

Do I need to pay in advance?

No you do not need to pay in advance. You can elect to pay on arrival.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel a booking. Please contact Our 24/7 Helpdesk on +94 77 315 9011.

What happens if my flight is cancelled?

Contact us as soon as possible on +94 77 315 9011. We will have monitored the flight and as a result we will remove the allocation of the vehicle. Your transfer order will be placed on HOLD for 24 hours, during which you can rebook your transfer at no extra cost.

What if I miss my flight?

Contact us as soon as possible on +94 77 315 9011. We will have monitored the flight as a result we will remove the allocation of the vehicle. There is NO charge for “No Show” . However, you can re-book at NO extra cost.
